# 9D VPN vs Opti VPN

The clearest difference is ads: Opti VPN at none against 9D VPN's shown. Opti VPN also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 44%). 9D VPN's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (530 vs 9). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 9D VPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Opti VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

9D VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 9D VPN has 530 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of 9D VPN's written reviews are positive against 67% of Opti VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

9D VPN ships an update fortnightly, Opti VPN every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
