# 9D VPN vs VPN Proxy

The clearest difference is ads: VPN Proxy at none against 9D VPN's shown. VPN Proxy also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 4 weeks). 9D VPN's advantage is ratings volume (532 vs 14). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 9D VPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and VPN Proxy sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN Proxy holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 9D VPN has 532 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of 9D VPN's written reviews are positive against 43% of VPN Proxy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

9D VPN ships an update every 4 weeks, VPN Proxy weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
