# Synops vs idMax SDK

The clearest difference is update cadence: idMax SDK at every 3 months against Synops's every 14 months. idMax SDK also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Synops ships an update every 14 months, idMax SDK every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
