# App Lock vs Narrato

The clearest difference is rating: Narrato at 4.7 against App Lock's 3.8. Narrato also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (54 vs 4). App Lock's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. App Lock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Narrato sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Narrato holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Narrato has 54 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

App Lock ships an update every 2 months, Narrato every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
