# App Lock vs Notepad

The clearest difference is ads: App Lock at none against Notepad's shown. Notepad's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and device support (3 vs 1). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. App Lock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Notepad sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

App Lock ships an update every 2 months, Notepad every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 19, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
