# Layla vs Fictional

The clearest difference is price: Fictional at Free against Layla's $19.99. Fictional also leads on rating (4.4 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (193 vs 33). Layla's advantage is chart position (#17 vs unranked). On review sentiment, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Fictional is free to download; Layla costs $19.99 up front. Layla sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Fictional sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fictional holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fictional has 193 ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Layla's written reviews are positive against 50% of Fictional's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Layla ships an update every 8 days, Fictional every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
