# Retro vs Discipline

The clearest difference is ads: Discipline at none against Retro's shown. Retro's advantage is iOS requirement (12.4 vs 15.1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Retro sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Discipline sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Retro ships an update every 4 days, Discipline weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
