# Kindred vs NOVA

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Kindred at 63% against NOVA's 37%. Kindred also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). NOVA's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 4) and rating (4.3 vs 4.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kindred sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and NOVA sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NOVA holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NOVA has 1.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Kindred's written reviews are positive against 37% of NOVA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Kindred ships an update weekly, NOVA every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
