# Noteshelf vs Notewise

The clearest difference is update cadence: Notewise at every 2 days against Noteshelf's weekly. Noteshelf's advantage is ratings volume (7K vs 282) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Noteshelf sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Notewise sells 16 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Noteshelf against 4.6 for Notewise. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Noteshelf has 7K ratings behind it against 282, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 57% of Noteshelf's written reviews are positive against 53% of Notewise's.

Noteshelf ships an update weekly, Notewise every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
