# Noteshelf vs Remote Control

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Remote Control at none against Noteshelf's 17. Remote Control also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). Noteshelf's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (7K vs 14). On price and rating there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Noteshelf sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Remote Control asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Noteshelf against 4.7 for Remote Control. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Noteshelf has 7K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Noteshelf ships an update weekly, Remote Control monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
