# HoLaTeX vs ApiNote

The clearest difference is rating: ApiNote at 5.0 against HoLaTeX's 4.0. ApiNote also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (4 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HoLaTeX sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $23.95 per year and ApiNote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ApiNote holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 4 respectively.

HoLaTeX ships an update every 2 months, ApiNote every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
