# Cotomo（コトモ：音声会話型おしゃべりAI） vs MochiChat

The clearest difference is monetization model: Cotomo（コトモ：音声会話型おしゃべりAI） at free against MochiChat's free with in-app purchases. Cotomo（コトモ：音声会話型おしゃべりAI） also leads on rating (4.3 vs 4.0). MochiChat's advantage is review sentiment (62% vs 41%) and ratings volume (49 vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cotomo（コトモ：音声会話型おしゃべりAI） sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and MochiChat sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cotomo（コトモ：音声会話型おしゃべりAI） holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MochiChat has 49 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Cotomo（コトモ：音声会話型おしゃべりAI）'s written reviews are positive against 62% of MochiChat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cotomo（コトモ：音声会話型おしゃべりAI） ships an update every 6 days, MochiChat weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
