# Gun Gear vs VIPStatus

The clearest difference is rating: VIPStatus at 5.0 against Gun Gear's 4.3. VIPStatus also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days). Gun Gear's advantage is ratings volume (1.4K vs 2) and device support (3 vs 1). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gun Gear sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. VIPStatus asks for nothing beyond the download.

VIPStatus holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gun Gear has 1.4K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Gun Gear ships an update every 9 days, VIPStatus every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
