# StudyStream vs FocusTok

The clearest difference is review sentiment: FocusTok at 80% against StudyStream's 38%. FocusTok also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.4) and ads (none vs shown). StudyStream's advantage is ratings volume (377 vs 9) and update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StudyStream sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and FocusTok sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FocusTok holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StudyStream has 377 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 38% of StudyStream's written reviews are positive against 80% of FocusTok's.

StudyStream ships an update every 4 days, FocusTok fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
