# My Type! vs Spell Sense

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: My Type! at none against Spell Sense's 1. My Type! also leads on review sentiment (86% vs 57%) and ratings volume (65 vs 3). Spell Sense's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spell Sense sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. My Type! asks for nothing beyond the download.

Spell Sense holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Type! has 65 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of My Type!'s written reviews are positive against 57% of Spell Sense's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

My Type! ships an update fortnightly, Spell Sense every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
