# My Type! vs Grid Wave

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: My Type! at none against Grid Wave's 1. My Type! also leads on ratings volume (66 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). Grid Wave's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Grid Wave sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. My Type! asks for nothing beyond the download.

Grid Wave holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Type! has 66 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of My Type!'s written reviews are positive against 100% of Grid Wave's.

My Type! ships an update fortnightly, Grid Wave every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
