# PureShort vs BitePlay

The clearest difference is ads: PureShort at none against BitePlay's shown. BitePlay's advantage is rating (1.7 vs 1.4) and ratings volume (154 vs 24). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PureShort sells 9 one-off in-app purchases and BitePlay sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BitePlay holds the better App Store score, 1.7 against 1.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BitePlay has 154 ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 4% and 3% positive.

PureShort ships an update every 3 weeks, BitePlay monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
