# Hiking Tracker vs TrekDex

The clearest difference is device support: Hiking Tracker at 3 against TrekDex's 1. Hiking Tracker also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hiking Tracker sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and TrekDex sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hiking Tracker ships an update every 3 weeks, TrekDex fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
