# OMBAR vs GekoGear

The clearest difference is rating: GekoGear at 5.0 against OMBAR's 2.0. OMBAR's advantage is ratings volume (106 vs 2) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GekoGear holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OMBAR has 106 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

OMBAR ships an update every 6 weeks, GekoGear every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
