# SkyWise vs Subwave

The clearest difference is ads: Subwave at none against SkyWise's shown. Subwave also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and ratings volume (13 vs 2). SkyWise's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (15.5 vs 18). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SkyWise holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Subwave has 13 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SkyWise ships an update weekly, Subwave fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
