# Backgammon Pro Online vs Backgammon Mania

The clearest difference is ads: Backgammon Pro Online at none against Backgammon Mania's shown. Backgammon Pro Online also leads on ratings volume (340 vs 13) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). Backgammon Mania's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (50% vs 28%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon Pro Online sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Backgammon Mania sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Backgammon Pro Online holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon Pro Online has 340 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of Backgammon Pro Online's written reviews are positive against 50% of Backgammon Mania's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Backgammon Pro Online ships an update every 2 months, Backgammon Mania weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
