# PrivateSentry vs Whatever VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Whatever VPN at 4.3 against PrivateSentry's 3.9. Whatever VPN also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). PrivateSentry's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 50%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PrivateSentry sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Whatever VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Whatever VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 168 and 58 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of PrivateSentry's written reviews are positive against 50% of Whatever VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PrivateSentry ships an update weekly, Whatever VPN every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 16, 2026 respectively.
