# Bracketology vs 2nd try

The clearest difference is rating: 2nd try at 5.0 against Bracketology's 4.0. 2nd try also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (99% vs 73%). Bracketology's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bracketology sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and 2nd try sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

2nd try holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 2nd try has 7.1K ratings behind it against 179, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 73% of Bracketology's written reviews are positive against 99% of 2nd try's.

Bracketology ships an update fortnightly, 2nd try every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
