# AppLock vs App Lock

The clearest difference is ratings volume: App Lock at 6.6K against AppLock's 205. AppLock's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AppLock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and App Lock sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

App Lock holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: App Lock has 6.6K ratings behind it against 205, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of AppLock's written reviews are positive against 73% of App Lock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AppLock ships an update every 8 days, App Lock every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
