# Topgolf vs The Next Round

Topgolf and The Next Round both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 92% of The Next Round's written reviews are positive against 57% of Topgolf's. The Next Round also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Topgolf's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (93K vs 123). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Topgolf against 4.9 for The Next Round. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Topgolf has 93K ratings behind it against 123, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 57% of Topgolf's written reviews are positive against 92% of The Next Round's.

Topgolf ships an update every 9 days, The Next Round every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
