CUHK Horizons vs Numblr

The new learning e-platform Horizons offers a place for comprehensive documentation of students’ work. It serves as a community for learning and enhancing engagement through collaboration among teachers and students within and between programmes in the Faculty of Education, the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Numblr helps you master the hardest part of English listening: numbers. Dates, times, money, phone numbers and everyday conversations are full of numbers — and they're easy to mishear. Numblr gives you focused, repeatable practice so you never miss a digit again. HOW IT WORKS • Tap play, listen to a short clip spoken by native-like voices • Type what you heard using the in-app numeric keyboard • Get instant feedback on each digit • Every wrong answer is saved so you can review and retry WHAT YOU CAN PRACTICE • Plain numbers — from small integers to 8-digit monsters • Dates — any date from 1500 through the modern era • Times — every minute from 00:00 to 23:59, with and without standard English phrasing • Money — dollar amounts big and small • Mobile numbers — 10 and 11 digit formats • Conversations — numbers spoken naturally in real dialogues (birthdays, deadlines, movie releases, appointments, prices, phone exchanges, and more) BUILT FOR PRACTICE • Adjustable playback speed (0.5× to 2×) • Daily streak to keep you consistent • Mistake review — practice the exact items you got wrong until you nail them • Statistics to track accuracy and momentum • Dark mode, iPad support, portrait and landscape EXAM MODE (PRO) Simulate listening test conditions with limited replays, a time limit per question, answers only revealed at the end, and mixed test types. Great prep for IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or any English listening exam. FULLY OFFLINE All audio is bundled with the app — no streaming, no network dependency, no data collection. Works on a plane, on a subway, anywhere. PRO UPGRADE (OPTIONAL) Unlock advanced tests (dates, times, money, mobile), exam mode, and all conversation scenarios.
