# Knowt vs Socranotes

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Socranotes at 100% against Knowt's 62%. Socranotes also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Knowt's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 4) and chart position (#78 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Knowt sells 27 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Socranotes sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Socranotes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Knowt has 11K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 62% of Knowt's written reviews are positive against 100% of Socranotes's.

Knowt ships an update weekly, Socranotes fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
