# Blue Light Filter vs Keep Screen On & Dimmer Screen

The clearest difference is rating: Blue Light Filter at 3.3 against Keep Screen On & Dimmer Screen's 1.8. Blue Light Filter also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (137 vs 5). Keep Screen On & Dimmer Screen's advantage is review sentiment (25% vs 3%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Blue Light Filter sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Keep Screen On & Dimmer Screen sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Blue Light Filter holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blue Light Filter has 137 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 3% of Blue Light Filter's written reviews are positive against 25% of Keep Screen On & Dimmer Screen's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Blue Light Filter ships an update weekly, Keep Screen On & Dimmer Screen every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
