# Part 107 vs Azimuth Prep

The clearest difference is monetization model: Part 107 at free with in-app purchases against Azimuth Prep's subscription. Part 107 also leads on ratings volume (1.1K vs 6) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 5 months). Azimuth Prep's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Part 107 sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Azimuth Prep sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $34.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Azimuth Prep holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Part 107 has 1.1K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Part 107 ships an update every 5 weeks, Azimuth Prep every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
