# MD Calculator vs WhyNot Widgets

The clearest difference is update cadence: WhyNot Widgets at daily against MD Calculator's fortnightly. MD Calculator's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MD Calculator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and WhyNot Widgets sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MD Calculator holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 79 and 78 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of MD Calculator's written reviews are positive against 67% of WhyNot Widgets's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MD Calculator ships an update fortnightly, WhyNot Widgets daily. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
