# Facepunk vs Alarm Clock

Facepunk and Alarm Clock both sit at 4.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 50% of Facepunk's written reviews are positive against 0% of Alarm Clock's. Facepunk also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). Alarm Clock's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Facepunk sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Alarm Clock sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Alarm Clock holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alarm Clock has 183 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Facepunk's written reviews are positive against 0% of Alarm Clock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Facepunk ships an update every 3 weeks, Alarm Clock every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
