# Letterly vs Note Recorder

The clearest difference is ads: Letterly at none against Note Recorder's shown. Letterly also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 7). Note Recorder's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 78%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Letterly sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Note Recorder sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Letterly holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Letterly has 1.1K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Letterly's written reviews are positive against 100% of Note Recorder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Letterly ships an update every 10 days, Note Recorder fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
