# Letterly vs DOWAY

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Letterly at 78% against DOWAY's 29%. Letterly also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 2). DOWAY's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Letterly sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and DOWAY sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DOWAY holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Letterly has 1.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Letterly's written reviews are positive against 29% of DOWAY's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Letterly ships an update every 10 days, DOWAY fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
