# Letterly vs Comet

Letterly and Comet both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 78% of Letterly's written reviews are positive against 65% of Comet's. Letterly also leads on device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). Comet's advantage is ratings volume (7.8K vs 1.1K). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Letterly sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Comet sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $20.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Letterly against 4.7 for Comet. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Comet has 7.8K ratings behind it against 1.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 78% of Letterly's written reviews are positive against 65% of Comet's.

Letterly ships an update every 10 days, Comet every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
