# Chessed Up vs Heatmap Chess

The clearest difference is update cadence: Heatmap Chess at every 2 months against Chessed Up's every 10 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chessed Up sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Heatmap Chess sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chessed Up ships an update every 10 months, Heatmap Chess every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
