# Island Widgets vs Petopia

The clearest difference is rating: Petopia at 5.0 against Island Widgets's 4.0. Island Widgets's advantage is ratings volume (185 vs 9) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Island Widgets sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per year and Petopia sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Petopia holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Island Widgets has 185 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Island Widgets ships an update every 5 days, Petopia weekly. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
