# TWA Dictionary vs Modal Math

The clearest difference is rating: Modal Math at 5.0 against TWA Dictionary's 4.3. TWA Dictionary's advantage is ratings volume (33 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TWA Dictionary sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Modal Math sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Modal Math holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TWA Dictionary has 33 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TWA Dictionary ships an update every 3 weeks, Modal Math every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
