# PwMailExt vs PDF Scanner

The clearest difference is rating: PDF Scanner at 5.0 against PwMailExt's 1.0. PDF Scanner also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (10 vs 1). PwMailExt's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PDF Scanner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. PwMailExt asks for nothing beyond the download.

PDF Scanner holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PDF Scanner has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PwMailExt ships an update every 6 months, PDF Scanner weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
