# BiteExpress vs SAMU

The clearest difference is update cadence: SAMU at every 2 weeks against BiteExpress's every 4 months. SAMU also leads on ratings volume (9 vs 1). BiteExpress's advantage is monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for BiteExpress against 5.0 for SAMU. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SAMU has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

BiteExpress ships an update every 4 months, SAMU every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
