# MapGenie vs Pal Guide

The clearest difference is ads: MapGenie at none against Pal Guide's shown. MapGenie also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3). Pal Guide's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 17 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MapGenie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Pal Guide sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
