# MapGenie vs WARDOGS Companion | MetaForge

The clearest difference is review sentiment: WARDOGS Companion | MetaForge at 100% against MapGenie's 47%. WARDOGS Companion | MetaForge also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1). MapGenie's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (161 vs 3). On price, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MapGenie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. WARDOGS Companion | MetaForge asks for nothing beyond the download.

MapGenie holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MapGenie has 161 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of MapGenie's written reviews are positive against 100% of WARDOGS Companion | MetaForge's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
