# Scripz vs Word Derby

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Word Derby at none against Scripz's 1. Scripz's advantage is ratings volume (8 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.4 vs 17.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scripz sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per year. Word Derby asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Scripz against 5.0 for Word Derby. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scripz has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly daily. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
