# Chessbook vs Aethron Study

The clearest difference is rating: Chessbook at 4.9 against Aethron Study's 4.3. Chessbook also leads on ratings volume (2.2K vs 3). Aethron Study's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 83%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chessbook sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Aethron Study sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chessbook holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chessbook has 2.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Chessbook's written reviews are positive against 100% of Aethron Study's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
