# All Document Reader vs Smart Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Smart Notes at 5.0 against All Document Reader's 4.3. Smart Notes also leads on ads (none vs shown). All Document Reader's advantage is ratings volume (256 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. All Document Reader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Smart Notes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Smart Notes holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: All Document Reader has 256 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

All Document Reader ships an update every 3 months, Smart Notes every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
