# Ghost vs Letter Printer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Letter Printer at freemium against Ghost's subscription. Letter Printer also leads on device support (3 vs 1). Ghost's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (7.7K vs 24). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ghost sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Letter Printer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ghost holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ghost has 7.7K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ghost ships an update every 9 days, Letter Printer every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
