# Themelia vs Lexy PDF Viewer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Themelia at free with in-app purchases against Lexy PDF Viewer's subscription. Themelia also leads on ratings volume (15K vs 192) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Lexy PDF Viewer's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Themelia sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days and Lexy PDF Viewer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $12.90 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Themelia against 4.5 for Lexy PDF Viewer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Themelia has 15K ratings behind it against 192, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 72% of Themelia's written reviews are positive against 68% of Lexy PDF Viewer's.

Themelia ships an update every 3 weeks, Lexy PDF Viewer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
