# Gamalta vs ReadMyStrip

The clearest difference is rating: ReadMyStrip at 5.0 against Gamalta's 1.7. ReadMyStrip also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months). Gamalta's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (20% vs 0%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ReadMyStrip sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Gamalta asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReadMyStrip holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gamalta has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Gamalta's written reviews are positive against 0% of ReadMyStrip's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
