# WidgetsLab vs Iconic Themes & Wallpaper

The clearest difference is monetization model: WidgetsLab at free with in-app purchases against Iconic Themes & Wallpaper's subscription. WidgetsLab also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Iconic Themes & Wallpaper's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WidgetsLab sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Iconic Themes & Wallpaper sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for WidgetsLab against 5.0 for Iconic Themes & Wallpaper. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Iconic Themes & Wallpaper has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

WidgetsLab ships an update every 2 weeks, Iconic Themes & Wallpaper every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
