# App Lock vs Unplug Me

The clearest difference is rating: Unplug Me at 5.0 against App Lock's 4.5. Unplug Me also leads on ads (none vs shown). App Lock's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. App Lock sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month and Unplug Me sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Unplug Me holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of App Lock's written reviews are positive against 29% of Unplug Me's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

App Lock ships an update weekly, Unplug Me every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
