# TacticMap vs GPS

The clearest difference is device support: GPS at 4 against TacticMap's 2. GPS also leads on iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TacticMap sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and GPS sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TacticMap ships an update every 6 days, GPS every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
